Mike has a real passion for serving his community to facilitate economic development planning and projects. Mike is the President-Elect on the executive board of the Butte Local Development Corporation, a former termed off board member of the Butte Chamber, a board member of the Uptown Butte Master Plan Association, a board member of the Mining City Little Guy Football League, a committee member of the Southwest Montana Chapter of The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Immediate Past President executive board member of the Montana Chapter of the NAIFA, and currently a member of the Upper Clark Fork River Restoration and Advisory Council.

Always the overachiever, Mike can also be seen at numerous public comment meetings related to the Butte Priority Soils Operable Unit Superfund Site to facilitate our final community clean up, supporting the Montana Resources Inc. Mining Operations with their permitting process, serving the Council of Commissioners Chamber, and doing his darndest to make an appearance at every important community meeting. Last, but not least, Mike also coaches his children’s sports teams in his free time. He is truly a master of making every minute count. Mike loves spending time with his wonderful, loving, and supportive wife, Beth, and who serves as the CEO of the Paffhausen Family supervising their two amazing children. Just like his work agenda, Mike’s list of potential weekend activities is jam-packed. Hunting, fly fishing, hiking, shooting, camping, rafting, and boating — anything outdoors is fair game. A multi-generational sportsman, Mike prides himself in teaching his children and friends to enjoy all the luxuries the Treasure State has to offer.
